This week on Pambio Live, we had the pleasure of hosting Timam Evans, a born-again Christian whose music is themed on Christian living and matters of the Kingdom of God. Timam has steadily built a name for himself over the years and is affectionately named ‘Kenya’s Street Worshiper’ because of his signature fusion of Sheng in worship music.

Although some of his lyrics are a mixture of English and other African native languages, he mainly sings in Kiswahili.

His background

Timam started music at a tender age but in 2016, he started doing it professionally and released his first hit single Kamagera produced by Marvine Music. He later went on to do Mtakatifu and Gigagaga under the same music label.

In 2017 Timam met with his childhood friend Gituamba who is also a music guru. The two started working together and Gituamba is now his chief audio producer and engineer. Together they have produced a series of hit singles including Siku Moja, Mtatuzi Wa zogo and Hujajam, to name a few. Timam is looking forward to releasing his much-awaited album “Ibada Kitaa” (Street Worship) before 2021 ends.

His calling and vision is to bring young people to the full knowledge of Christ and introduce them to intimate worship of God in a language that they are conversant with. His main agenda is to let young people know that one can approach God just as they are and that God desires a relationship that is beyond religion.
