Disney+ app changes on DStv Streama and Disney+ Add to Bill
Going forward, DStv customers will no longer be able to add Disney+ to their DStv bill, nor access Disney+ on the DStv Streama.
Disney will launch a new Disney+ app in South Africa on 9 September 2026.
Disney+ on DStv Streama
As part of this change, the new Disney+ app will not be supported on the DStv Explora Ultra decoder and DStv Streama. Customers who currently use the existing Disney+ app on the DStv Explora Ultra decoder and Streama can continue using it until 12 October 2026, when Disney retires the old app.
Please note that while the app will remain accessible until 12 October, no new Disney+ content will be added to the existing app after 9 September 2026.
Disney+ on DStv Add to Bill
If you subscribe to Disney+ through DStv's add-to-bill option, there are also some changes to be aware of.
New Disney+ add-to-bill subscriptions are no longer available, which means customers can no longer add Disney+ to their DStv account and pay for it as part of their DStv bill.
Existing Disney+ add-to-bill customers will be contacted separately about their options and any relevant next steps.
Customers who would like to continue watching Disney+ after these changes will need to access Disney+ through Disney's new app on a supported device. For the latest information on supported devices and Disney+ access, visit Disney's official channels.
