Princess of hearts – Idols SA

News
07 November 2023
The journey that made Mzansi fall in love.
Princess' journey

It’s been a long way to the finale but Princess made it and proved that even if the ride gets rocky, there’s always a way to come back and succeed.

When she started singing during her audition, it was clear to the judges that they had found something special. And it’s been magical since then.

First spot in the Top 12

In a very nerve-wrecking part of the auditioning phase, Princess brought the groove and set the mood just right when she covered ‘Maphupho’. This was the performance that earned her the first place in the Idols SA Top 12.

Her journey had its ups and downs with some performances falling short. The vocals were always present but her nerves sometimes took the front seat which made the judges worry.

After taking in the critique, Princess dusted herself off and came back bigger and better.

It was ‘Russian Roulette’, ‘Shayizandla’, and ‘Dangerously in Love’ for everyone

There’s always a moment that catches the audience and solidifies the contestant’s place in their hearts. Princess had many of those moments. Earlier in the show after hitting a low place, she found her confidence again and set her own standard with an unforgettable delivery of ‘Russian Roulette’.

She kept the momentum going with the love songs. We already knew that she can nail a vocal but when she covered her Idol, Beyoncé and Naima Kay, she reached a new level of amazing.

Last lady standing

Her determination placed her in the last ever Idols SA Top 2, making her the last lady standing.

She came through one last time for the finale and even though she didn’t walk away with the title, her hard work and dedication throughout the season is enough to make everyone proud.
