From the moment we were introduced to criminal mastermind Elliot Gedeza and “The Wrong Turns” on their first heist, right up to the final week of the season, DiepCity has had us glued to our screens.

Here’s five things we will miss most:

1. Its riveting story line

Set in the township of Diepsloot, DiepCity followed the lives of residents as they walked the line between poverty and prosperity, crime, and justice and for many this was totally relatable.  Did we mention it even won a South African Film and Television Award (SAFTAs) last year for Best Telenovela? Yep! This was a translation of all the love from the people on Mzansi.

2. The talented cast

From both celebrated names including Mduduzi Mabaso, Dawn Thandeka King and Hamilton Dhlamini, to the new kids on the block Nozuko Ncayiyane, Nompumelelo Vilakazi, Zikhona Bali and Kgaogelo Monama, the cast kept us glued to our screens with their amazing talent.

3. The fire soundtrack

Listen, one thing about the DiepCity soundtrack, it was everything and ya’ll have been calling for a soundtrack album for the longest time, LOL!

4. The laughs and gags

If it wasn’t Ringo and Khelina, it was Themba that made us LOL! Remember these Five funniest Ringo moments? Do you also remember how you all laughed when MaShenge told Lungile to go upstairs to her room.

5. The DiepCity weddings

DiepCity managed to bring people of different cultures together in "Sloot" in some of the best weddings we’ve seen. Remember Bafana and Lerato’s wedding where the community attended wearing attired that represented almost all the cultures in South Africa including SePedi, isiXhosa, Shona and TsiVhenda just to name a few.

How could we forget Ringo and Khelina’s wedding? Once again, the people of “Sloot” came through with amazing outfits to celebrate Mr and Mrs Khazamula.

As we prepare for the final goodbye this Friday, 3 March we take a moment to celebrate a triumphant two seasons run.

If you’ll miss all your favourites, you can binge watch DiepCity on Showmax.
