He was affected by his father's disappearance and motivated by a childhood promise to become the best in his field, but Sol's desperation for recognition has made him fabricate a front-page story and caused his career to take a whole different turn.
Instead of fighting hard to be respected journalist, he is now out killing someone every week and running after a none-existent story that continues to confuse everyone around him.
The newsroom thrives on breaking stories and everyone stays gunning for that big front page story and so when Sol enters, he is met with people that are just as hungry but that doesn’t land very well with him. Gert is particular rubs him off the wrong way because he gets the prize every time and this leads to rivalry between them but instead of fighting with stories, Sol decides to kill him.
The duo that is Mindloz and Sol is one weird one built on lies and conspiracies. When Sol meets who he now sees as his best friend, he vows to do anything for him as long to make sure that the police don’t catch him out on his crimes. While Mindloz needs money from someone that owes him in order to take care of his son. Sol turns into a blood hungry person and goes on to kill the only person that would’ve helped the situation.
It only gets worse when Palesa’s real boyfriend comes back in to the picture permanently now. Sol and Palesa have been seeing each other on the downlow but this was never going to be a life thing according to Palesa but we are dealing with Sol here. When he feels her slipping away after agreeing to marry Dumo, he does what he knows best and that is to take him out immediately.
One would wonder why he even chose journalism because he has no idea what the profession entails and stands for. It continues to go downhill and you shouldn’t miss any of it.
