Just in time for Xmas, multiple Idols – and Somizi! – have new music out!
Vusi Nova and Somizi

‘Tis the season to be jolly – and to binge on new singles from the Idols!

First up: the surprising news about Somizi in collaboration with Vusi Nova!

Titled ‘Ntandane’, it’s a tribute to his late mom (and ‘Black Is King’ star) Mary Twala and Vusi Nova’s mother, Ndileka. The track is a cover of a 1990 Busi Mhlongo and Twasa original.

Next up, last season’s winner, Luyolo, has a new album out titled ‘Ithemba’ – and it’s a gleaming Afro-pop gem! Considered, deep and melodic, it’s available on your favourite streaming service via this link.

Runner-up Sneziey also has new music out: the gospel album ‘Izulu’! Authentic and joyous, grab it here.

The existence of this album and the careers of Khaya Mthethwa and Mmatema sure prove what all four of our recent gospel stars said about the Idols: they could easily switch from the secular to songs of praise.

Finishing out our season 15 trifecta, Micayla ALSO has new music out in the form of the single, ‘I Belong’. It’s a preppy, poppy dance number that sounds a little like Kylie Minogue – cop it here!

Stepping back a couple of seasons, our 2017 winner Paxton Fielies has a new cut out called ‘Undeniable’. A future-facing slice of sassy nu-soul, it’s available here.

Finally, season 14 contender Nosipho (who also guested in our Top 10 reveal show) has a new song out called ‘Wena Wedwa’. With shades of dancehall and Afrobeats, it’s excellent, and you can find it on you favourite streaming service here.

Don’t forget: the season 16 Top 3 all perform their new Kalawa Jazmee assisted singles on Sunday, and they’ll also be available to stream on the night!

Season 16 of Idols SA broadcasts on Sundays at 17:00 on Mzansi Magic Channel 161. Get exclusive updates and a behind the scenes look at all the action right here on our site. Don't forget to join the conversation by following us on FacebookTwitter and Instagram using the hashtag #IdolsSA.
