From 17 September, DStv is introducing its biggest package update in 15 years, with more choice, more content and more value. 

Some of our biggest channels, including M-Net, kykNET and Mzansi Magic, will now be available on more accessible packages than before. Sport is opening up too, with full PSL coverage available on Select and our first sports-focused package, Sports, bringing together 17 dedicated sports channels, including every PSL, Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, plus cricket. Access becomes Starter, Family becomes Select, and Compact becomes Sports, with more channels and content added to each. There’s also a brand-new Movies & Series package created for entertainment lovers.

No. In fact, the new line-up gives customers more to watch. 

Starter gains 10 channels, Select gains 10 channels and Sports gains four channels. Movies & Series is an entirely new package for entertainment lovers, while Premium continues to bring together DStv’s most comprehensive entertainment and sport offering, including exclusive premium sport. 

A few existing channels are also coming together to create bigger, stronger destinations. For example, Mzansi Wethu, Mzansi Bioskop and Mzansi Music come together in Wethu+, giving viewers a broader mix of great local entertainment in one place. 

You stay on Compact Plus, with no change to your account. The package will no longer be available to new customers, but existing Compact Plus customers can continue enjoying it as usual.

No. There’s nothing you need to do right now. If you’re an active DStv customer, your package will update automatically when the new line-up launches on 17 September. 

From 17 September, you’ll be able to upgrade, sign up or change your package through our self-service channels. 

With more choice across entertainment, sport and movies and series, you can pick the DStv package that best fits what you love to watch. 

You stay on the package you have. There’s no change to Premium or EasyView. 

Premium remains DStv’s most comprehensive package, with the widest combination of entertainment and sport, including our exclusive premium sport. 

The new DStv packages launch in South Africa on 17 September 2026. That’s when you can start enjoying more choice and more to watch.
