The Kenya Film Commission has announced the nominees of the 9th Annual Edition of the Kalasha Awards and Maisha Magic East has received the highest nominations of any television channel in Kenya. Actors, actresses and top shows have been nominated in the following categories:

Best Lead Actor | Pascal Tekodi (Selina), Maqbul Mohammed (Varshita), Joe Kinyua (Njoro wa uba) and Leon Onganya (Pete) |
Best TV Comedy | Njoro wa Uba, Nyanya Rukia nad Varshita |
Best Performance in TV Comedy | Eve D’Souza (Varshita), Kazungu Fahamu (Nyanya Rukia) and Peter Sankale (Hullabaloo Estate) |
Best Host in a TV Show | Amina Rabar (The Turn Up) |
Best TV Reality Show | Eugene Mbugua (Our Perfect Wedding) |
Best Student Feature Film | Ensulo and Promises (Njoki Muhoho and MTF Class of 2018) |
Best Production Designer | Tecla Joan, Ensulo |
The Kalasha Awards celebrate exceptional talent in the film and TV industry on the Kenyan screens. The public voting process is now open setting the stage for the main award gala on the 30th November 2019.
