Spinners S2 goes global across 45 countries
The award-winning South African drama returns with higher stakes, new rivals and a global rollout reaching audiences in 45 countries.
The acclaimed South African drama Spinners is set for its biggest audience yet. Following the success of its award-winning debut season, Spinners Season 2 will launch across more than 45 countries from 25 October 2026 at 8PM on Mzansi Magic DStv channel 161, bringing the hit series to viewers across Africa, Europe and beyond.
Produced by MultiChoice and CANAL+, with international distribution by STUDIOCANAL, the new season expands the series' global footprint while showcasing South African storytelling, talent and production expertise to international audiences.
This time, Ethan and his crew leave Cape Town behind for Johannesburg, where new opportunities, rivalries and dangers await in the country's high-octane spinning scene.
“SPINNERS has already proven that African stories can compete on the world stage, and this rollout is us backing that conviction at scale. Bringing Season 2 to millions of viewers across the world and delivering it in more than five languages, means audiences from Lagos to Paris get to experience South African storytelling at its best,” says Nomsa Philiso, Executive Vice President, Content, CANAL+ Africa.
What to Expect in Season 2
Season 2 follows Ethan (Cantona James), Trevor, Shane, Angelo and Amber as they embrace their growing status in Johannesburg's spinning community. But just as success seems within reach, a violent attack linked to Ethan's past threatens everything they've built.
Alongside the fast-paced action, the series explores themes of:
- Family and loyalty
- Power and ambition
- Grief and healing
- Violence and its consequences
- Love and friendship
Global release
From October 25, across the African continent, the series will air in its original form on channels including Mzansi Magic (South Africa), Africa Magic Showcase (Nigeria), Akwaaba Magic (Ghana), Pearl Magic Prime (Uganda) and Zambezi Magic (Zambia); it has been dubbed into Swahili for audiences in Kenya and Tanzania, and into Amharic for Ethiopia; and Portuguese-subtitled versions reach Mozambique and Angola.
