On Sunday 17 May 2026, Carte Blanche aired an investigation into allegations of financial mismanagement, corruption, and intimidation at the Sheriff’s Office. Mark Morgan is the current chairperson of the Board of Sheriffs, the body responsible for regulating the profession.
Morgan promised to remove rotten sheriffs who steal public money, but he is now accused of selling sheriff positions. His critics say he’s attempting to militarise how local sheriffs operate.
