Hlomu’s troubles since meeting Mqhele are never-ending. Sure, there is romance and their ride or die love story but add to that abuse, cheating, miscarriage and a new baby with dubious paternity. It’s really giving toxic and not romantic at this point.
What we really want to know is who is the father of Hlomu’s baby. If it Mqhele, perhaps this really could be the beginning of the love Hlomu and Mqhele had in the beginning when he swept her off her feet with his buy eyes, ice-cream and jazz night dates.

Sandile:
According to Hlomu her ex, who waited 7 years for her, is not the father because when she did have an intimate moment with him in passionate lustful infidelity, they used protection. So the late doctor is off the hook, may his soul rest in peace.

This is where things get both interesting and dangerous. The secret of Qhawe and Hlomu’s affair alone could break the brotherhood between the Zulu brothers but imagine if added to the mix is Hlomu carrying Qhawe’s child?
Hlomu has been professing that Mqhele is the father but we can see in the good sis’ eyes that she really can’t bet her or her baby’s life on it. Could it be too soon for her to pregnant with Qhawe’s child? Their revenge affair feels like only days ago but we also can’t remember when last she and her husband were intimate.
Mqhele:
We are not really sure Mqhele deserves to be a father or if he would make a decent one for that matter. If his abuse of Hkomu every time he does not get his way is anything to go by, then imagine dealing with the frantic tantrums of a 2-year old.
Are we judging him too harshly. We haven’t seen Hlomu and Mqhele together intimately in a minute but since she is considering the possibility that he could be the father, it means something has happened between them.
All our disappoint in Mqhele aside, he does seem to be the most likely father in timeline and proximity to his wife, but it is hard to tell. The night Hlomu told him he had killed their first child was the same night she slept with Qhawe. Before that, he had killed Sandile for sleeping with her. So when would he have had time to make a baby with a wife who hated every fibre of his being.
