The first diary sessions of the season brought a mix of emotions, surprises, and some hilarious moments as the housemates shared their thoughts and experiences. Here are some of the highlights:
Mandy Hagan expressed mixed emotions, saying she felt confident and excited to be in the house. Reflecting on her nominations, Mandy Hagan admitted to feeling guilty about nominating Philile, who she later found sweet, while she found Nsuku a bit rude. Mandy Hagan felt blindsided by being nominated herself, but acknowledged, “it’s a game after all.”
Sweet Guluva, the current HoH, expressed gratitude for being in the house and for the privileges of his role. However, he found managing personalities draining and admitted, “trying to please everyone is quite hard.” Despite this, he saved Gugu for her fun energy and nominated Jojo, who he felt was isolated.
Kay B felt happy but overwhelmed by the house’s dynamics. She humorously thanked Biggie for bringing in “a big strong man” and commented on her “talking stage” with Savage, though she wasn’t keen on his advances. Kay B’s nomination of Nsuku was driven by their past beef, while she appreciated Sipha Lee’s vibey nature.
Sipha Lee shared his gratitude and reflected on being chosen for his appearance rather than his story. He felt sabotaged during the HOH challenge but appreciated Bonni Bee’s leadership. He described Sweet Guluva as too mellow for the HOH role and became emotional as he explained his nominations of Kay B, for bullying Nsuku, and Mandy Hagan, whom he felt didn’t contribute enough.
Bonni Bee, the season’s first HOH, embraced her leadership role but noted she had to step up in areas where Guluva fell short. She didn’t hesitate to nominate Gugu for being “a little stuck up” and Ashley for unnecessary comments.
Ash-Ley Ogle kept it light-hearted, likening her time in the house to a holiday. She revealed plans to play mischievous pranks, from freezing poop to stealing items for laughs.
Watch the diary sessions highlight:
Savage admitted to feeling good, despite a stomach ache, and praised Sweet Guluva’s leadership. He nominated Ash-Ley, saying he didn’t feel a spark from her, and teased that he still intends to be a “red flag” in the house.
Gugu entered the diary room in tears, overwhelmed by the emotional vulnerability required during the wager task. She revealed tensions with Mata, whom she felt sabotaged her during the HoH challenge. Her nominations included Jojo, whom she felt lacked opinions, and Mata.
Abobo was excited to be in the house but admitted he found voting for housemates difficult. He appreciated inspiring stories, which led him to vote for Dube and Melino. Abobo criticised Bonni Bee for not bringing Dube into the house, as the group had decided.
Melino brought humour to his session by asking to sit comfortably in Biggie’s chair. He felt supported by certain housemates, like Mandy Hagan, while expressing a disconnect with Muzi-TheMbuzi and Tyrone. Melino nominated Savage and Kay B, explaining that Kay B’s comments didn’t sit well with him.
The housemates’ first diary sessions provided an intriguing mix of drama, emotion, and strategy, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead. With alliances forming and tensions brewing, the Big Brother Mzansi house is already heating up. Stay tuned to see how it all unfolds!
