You know what they say about one’s first love: It never dies! This rings true for Busisiwe (34) and Shemane (34) Tabane who started dating back in high school.

How they met:

The couple hold the year 2004 very close to their hearts, for its was the year they met in middle school. They only started dating in high school, and only committed to date exclusively in 2013.

What she likes about him:

Busisiwe pointed out Shemane’s forgiving nature. “He’s sociable and knows how to lift my spirit whenever I’m down,” she said.

What he likes about her:

He loves the fact that she appreciates all the things he does for her, big or small.

Challenges:

In 2017, while Busisiwe was pregnant with their third child, their second child fell ill. “She had leukaemia and was hospitalized. I had just given birth to our third child that time. I would sometimes have to leave our new-born with family and be with her daughter in hospital,” Busisiwe explained.

Sadly, their child passed away on the same month they were meant to get married. “It was difficult after that and it got to the point where I didn’t even want to get married,” she said.
