Our movie musts this May.

As we ease out of lockdown, we’re easing out of the spot on our couch…to a slightly different spot on our couch. A spot to take us through level 4. If you need more inspiration for what to watch, check out what’s coming up on the movie front on M-Net Movies and M-Net channel 101.

Sunday Night Movies
It’s going to be a long month in many ways, but in a good way too, because it means we have five Sunday night movies coming your way on M-Net channel 101. Check out the line-up.

If you love horror, we highly recommend Us, Jordan Peele’s second directorial feature. After many successful years in comedy, he cemented his place as a director to look out for with his incisive directorial debut, Get Out. He followed that masterpiece with Us, cementing his status as a horror maestro.

We’re also super keen to check out the third instalment in the John Wick trilogy. You can also check out the first and second chapters on M-Net Movies Zone this May.

M-Net Movies Premiere
Horror fans can get more scares over on channel 104 with The Possession of Hannah Grace.

If you find horror too horrendous, there’s plenty more coming up. Check it out.

Animania
Kids can still get their entertainment kicks with Animania on M-Net Movies Smile, All Stars, and Zone, every Saturday, all the way until the end of May. There’s big adventure with The BFG, nutty adventures with The Nut Job 1 and 2, magic and music with The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, icy entertainment in Smallfoot and The Snow Queen (1, 2, and 3), and lots, lots more.

Keep an eye out on the Animania page for more movies. Kids can also stay entertained by colouring in some of the Animania zanies or find fun things to do here.

M-Net channel 101 also has kids sorted on Saturdays with the following adventures:

Ugly Dolls, 2 May 15:30
Dora and the Lost City of Gold, 9 May 15:15
Mia and the White Lion, 16 May 15:15
Pokémon Detective Pikachu, 23 May 15:15
The Queen’s Corgi, 30 May 15:30

Contagion
If you still haven’t watched this eerily prescient movie by Steven Soderbergh, make sure you watch it on M-Net Movies Action+ channel 106 or DStv Catch Up. Check out more about the movie here.

World Cinema
And since our borders are still closed and we can’t fly anywhere, you can continue to armchair travel with these international movies.
