Who’s who in this family biopic.
fighting with my family cast

It’s all about fighting and family in your Sunday night movie, Fighting with My Family as we step into the wrestling ring with Paige and the Knight family. It may be based on the story of real-life female wrestler Paige and her family, but it’s not all beat downs and double downs.

Directed by Stephen Merchant, co-creator of The Office and Extras, you can expect loads of laughs too. And with a superb cast playing the family and friends, you can expect plenty of heart.

Let’s take a look at who’s who.

Florence Pugh
Plays Saraya "Paige" Knight
This young English actress has had a very good couple of years. In addition to Merchant’s movie last year, she also appeared in Ari Aster’s sophomore horror flick, Midsommar. And she keeps going from strength to strength. This year she landed an Oscar nomination for her role as Amy March in Little Women and will enter the MCU with the upcoming Black Widow.

Jack Lowden
Plays Zak "Zodiac" Knight
Another young actor making waves is this young Scot – something the BAFTAs also recognised this year, with his EE Rising Star nomination. Lowden has tackled period drama in many forms, with roles in England is Mine, Mary Queen of Scots, and the miniseries War & Peace. He also formed part of an incredible ensemble cast in Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic, Dunkirk. This year he reunites with his Dunkirk co-star Tom Hardy in Fonzo, playing FBI Agent Crawford to Hardy’s Al Capone.

Lena Headey
Plays Julia "Sweet Saraya" Knight
Game of Thrones’
fans hardly need an introduction to this awesome actress who played Cersei for eight seasons. She’s made quite the career playing mothers, villains, and queens. Some of her notable appearances include Queen Gorgo in 300 and its sequel, Ma-Ma in Dredd, and Lady Catherine de Bourgh in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. She brings something different to every role and we just love watching her.

Nick Frost
Plays Patrick "Rowdy Ricky" Knight
He’s perhaps best known for his partnership with Simon Pegg. Alongside Edgar Wright and Nira Park, the awesome foursome have given us comedy gems such as Spaced, Shaun of the Dead, and Hot Fuzz. Frost has also segued into Hollywood, but what we really want is another bromantic Brit-com with Simon Pegg. Although we are really excited about his appearance in the upcoming Joss Whedon-created sci-fi series The Nevers – even if we have to wait until next year to see it.

Stephen Merchant
Plays Hugh
If you’re a Frost fan, you’ll have spotted Merchant in Hot Fuzz. And if you’re well versed in all things Merchant and Gervais you’ll know him from The Office and Extras. Fans of The Big Bang Theory will also remember him as Amy’s Sheldon-obsessed sort-of boyfriend. Besides directing Fighting with My Family, he also takes on a small role in a memorable dinner scene.

Dwayne Johnson
Plays himself
As a former wrestling star and the highest-paid actor in the world, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson also needs no introduction. If you’re not a wrestling fan, you’ll still know him from his feature film debut in The Mummy Returns or any of his recent box office hits.

If wrestling is really not your thing, you should still watch this movie he co-produced, because it’s about so much more than wrestling. Sweet, funny, and packed with heart, watch your Sunday night movie, Fighting with My Family, on 23 February at 20:05 on M-Net channel 101.
