Big families mean big drama.

Charity starts at home, and so does drama. At least that’s what the Roys, Clarkmans, Moraleses, and Duttons would have us believe. From New York to Montana, these TV families sweep us along in the melodrama that is their lives, and we are. Here. For. It. If you’ve never met the Roys or the Duttons, now is your chance to knock on their door and enter their opulent homes. The Clarkmans and Moraleses, meanwhile, are new and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

Here's all the family drama you need to be revelling in.

Succession

With cutting remarks delivered by caustic characters, the Roys are the family we love to hate. Chronicling the rich-people problems that plague the Roys and their mighty media empire, Succesion’s grisly power plays make for fascinating and surprisingly funny viewing. Brian Cox, always so wickedly brilliant at playing formidable characters, leads the pack as patriarch Logan Roy. Something of a Conrad Black/Rupert Murdoch mashup, Cox chews up the scenery and spits it out and it is never not enthralling.

Kieran Culkin’s Roman Roy and Jeremy Strong’s Kendall Roy are two more of the show’s dark delights … but really, all of these characters make you shake your head and marvel at their machinations as you say “more, please”. If you’ve never met them, you’re in luck, because all four seasons of this highly popular and highly acclaimed show are coming to M-Net. You can watch it Mondays to Fridays at 22:00 and if you miss any episodes, catch up on DStv Stream.

Casa Grande

Then there’s this new fam, or two fams, the Clarkmans and Moraleses. This show is very different in tone, leaning heavily into the romance and grandiose drama. Judging by the trailer (below), it looks like we’re set for a Romeo and Juliet type of tale, and we can’t resist that! This show will even give you the chance to pick up a Spanish word or two, starting with the title, which means “big house”. Of course, we’re really here for the big drama. Casa Grande is said to have a Yellowstone vibe to it, so if you love that show, you may want to give this one a try.

Casa Grande season 1 starts Friday 17 November at 20:00 on M-Net channel 101.

Yellowstone

Speaking of Yellowstone, Showmax is still offering up this Western epic set in Montana and starring Kevin Costner as the patriarch of the cattle-rustling, ranch-owning Dutton family. So while we continue to wonder what’s happening with the rest of season 5, you can binge on the first four seasons and the first part of season 5. There are also the two spin-off series, 1883 and 1923, to enjoy.
