Usher into the new year with one of Mzansi’s most famous families. We’re talking about the brand-new reality show, Ofuze, which premiers on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) on Thursday, 19 January 2023 at 20:00.

Ofuze follows celebrity couple: legendary Maskandi musician, Bheki “Ihhashi Elimhlophe” and actress, Linah Ngcobo as well as their children while they navigate challenges under the spotlight. The series will show the family as you’ve never seen them before, and the younger generation will attempt to break free from the rules and restrictions set out by their parents. Can their love overcome their obstacles, or will their personal goals threaten the family legacy?

Meet the Ngcobos

In Season 1 of Ofuze, the Ngcobo kids set out to carve their own paths despite their parents’ reservations. We have Nathi, the opinionated eldest son, who is a father of four and he is determined to run his family his way. Next, it’s TV host and actress, Ntombee Mzolo. She is the family mediator, and she is battling demons since the loss of her two children.

Then there’s the middle son, Jabu. He is also a father, and he struggles with commitment issues – much to the horror of his traditional parents. The youngest sibling, Vusiwe, hides a secret from her family. Meanwhile, she is in a long-term relationship with her partner, but the question is: Will he finally pop the question and free her from the warm clutches of her parents and will her double life catch up to her?

“It’s great to have a new family join the Mzansi Magic kin in the new year.
