FIFA World Cup Qatar: The Quarter-finals

The FIFA World Cup 2022 has reached the quarter-final stage, with eight teams advancing to the next leg of the tournament. For the first time in history, the Atlas Lions – which are the only remaining African team in the tournament – progressed to the quarter-finals after their win against Spain on penalties.

The World Cup has seen many upsets, with tournament favourites such as Germany and Uruguay marked out. Defending champions, France as well as Croatia, Brazil, Netherlands, Argentina, England and Morocco will vying for the trophy. The quarter-finals kick-off Croatia facing Brazil at 17:00 on Friday, 9 December.
