Big Brother Mzansi breaks up with Vyno Miller

In the final Sunday Live shock eviction of February, 3 Housemates were eliminated from the Big Brother Mzansi Season 3 House and among them was Amapiano musician Bongani Sikhukhula, better known by his stage name, Vyno Miller.

At first, Vyno wasn’t on the chopping block, but Head of House Sis Tamara used her power to switch nominees and she replaced Tulz with Vyno “solely because Vyno was too comfortable in the competition. I’d like to see him [applying himself] more,” said Sis Tamara, whose comment came as a shock to Vyno and the remaining Housemates.

Since his arrival at the Big Brother Mzansi House as a bombshell on Day 7, Vyno had participated in all the games, he completed his chores and he hit it off with the other Housemates. Sis Tamara’s argument to nominate Vyno was questionable, and Vyno agrees. “I’m not happy with the excuse. I think that Tamara nominated me as I was a threat. Seeing that I’m [already an established musician], some of the Housemates believe that I don’t deserve the R2 million,” explains Vyno, adding, “I don’t hold any grudges against anyone, though. My experience in the House was amazing and I enjoyed every moment spent with every Housemate.”

Read on as the 25-year-old rising musician discusses his relationship with Terry and he shares details about the new album that he’s planning to release soon.

Facing the music

Describe your emotions when you were evicted?

“I was surprised! That’s not to say that I didn’t expect to be eliminated, I just didn’t expect 3 people to leave in one night, especially at this point of the game – where we’re halfway through. I thought at most, 2 but 3? Nonetheless, it’s Big Brother Mzansi and you never know how the game will go.”

Why did you enter the competition?

“For the most part, I entered for fun. I didn’t think that I’d make it to the show amongst the thousands who entered. I expected to have wild parties every day in the Big Brother Mzansi House – obviously, I was wrong as there are more than just parties, there are also challenges and quiet nights to look forward to. Lastly, I was expecting to meet people who were different from me in personality, and I was surprised to have met people who had similar interests as me and the same energy.”

Why do you think you gravitated to Gash1 when you joined the show?

“We’re both from Pretoria and he opened up to me faster than anyone else in the House.”

Soon after, you drew closer to Libo and formed a bromance of note. What are some of your favourite moments with him?

“I got close to Libo midway through my game. He was an upfront and honest man. I loved his stories and how calm he is. Usually, I drift towards kind people, and he was exactly that. I truly believe that Libo and I will remain friends even outside the House. We have this secret handshake that we did whenever we would see each other around the House, and that was my highlight. Also, our talks were great. I was comfortable around him, and we confided in each other. I’ll always cherish the moments we shared together.”

You also got close to Terry quite early in the competition and later, that connection turned romantic. How would you describe your relationship with her?

“I’ve met Terry outside of the competition, and I say met loosely because I saw her once and we were at a studio, but we didn’t speak to each other. So, after I joined Big Brother Mzansi and I was hanging around the House, I realised that we’d crossed paths before. That made it easier to come closer to her. I’d describe our relationship as fantastic. We get along well, and we both love music, which is awesome.”

Where does your relationship with Terry stand now that you’re out of the game?

“Terry and I have only been together for a month, and it was within the Big Brother Mzansi House. I’ll have to wait for her to leave the House so that we can talk further and iron out a few issues.

Although Sis Tamara put you up for nomination, so you think that she has the best chances of winning?

“Of course, it’s anyone’s game at this point, but Sis Tamara might win the competition. From what I’ve picked up, she is a strong competitor. She’s been Head of House twice; she’s won Friday challenges twice and no one has done that yet.”

What are your plans after Big Brother Mzansi Season 3?

“Music, music and more music. Music is my life – I love music. I’m planning on releasing an album soon. I was meant to release it before I entered the House and now, I believe that it’s the perfect time to put my music out there, for the world to listen.”
