Whether you’re a sports fan, movie lover, or TV series enthusiast, this is your chance to explore all the channels on DStv without upgrading your package. All you need to take part is to be an active DStv decoder customer in South Africa.

This is part of DStv’s 30-year celebrations and gives subscribers access to a wide range of content.

How to access Open Time:

To enjoy Open Time, make sure your decoder subscription is active. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Open Time is available to South African customers only.
  • It will run from 12:01 on Friday, 7 November to 11:59 on Sunday, 9 November 2025.
  • It applies to all active decoder subscriptions, including those who reconnect or subscribe during the weekend.
  • No action is required. If your subscription is active, you’ll automatically have access.
  • If your subscription is disconnected or cancelled during Open Time (due to non-payment or scheduled disconnection), access will be revoked.
  • Open Time applies to all Premium TV channels. Open Time excludes channels from ADD Indian.
  • Open Time is limited to live TV channels only and doesn’t include Catch Up.

Note: Open Time is only available to decoder subscribers. Customers with streaming-only subscriptions do not get Open Time as Open Time channels are not available on DStv Stream. Terms and Conditions apply.

What do Premium customers get?

DStv Premium customers will get two extra streams, which will be automatically activated. This applies to both decoder and DStv Premium Stream customers.

If you are an active subscriber and the DStv Premium channels aren’t available, you can contact DStv via the call centre, or online chat.
