The 25th anniversary of the South African Music Awards saw Jabulani “Sjava” Hadebe lifting two massive awards of the night. The ceremony that took place at Sun City Superbowl was broadcasted live on Saturday, 01 June.
Accompanied by his management, Ambitiouz Entertainment, his producer Ruff and stable mates, Sjava customarily came out on top, being amongst the prime winners of the night, taking home best afro-pop album and album of the year adding to the multiple awards he already has in his name. This further cements his legendary work and proves that authenticity and hard work will always triumph.
These are the first two awards he has bagged for his sophomore album, Umqhele, which has songs like Umama, Abafazi and Linda. The multiple award-winner was nominated in five categories to which he was appreciative. He said being recognised for the hard work he has put into his craft motivated him to be even more dedicated to serve the world with great music.
“I am happy, and the awards mean a lot to me. I am grateful to the judges who agreed that my work deserved these two awards. I am happy that I can deliver authentic music that people enjoy. Thank you to everyone who supports my music, I promise to always heal and entertain people through my music,” said the award-winning artist.
