If you ever doubted that AKA’s catalogue is truly something to be marvelled at, you now have new plaques to motivate you.
Following a private dinner on Tuesday night, the rapper on Wednesday unveiled his shining Diamond plaque certification, in which a slew of his previous works have been certified diamond and platinum. The list of songs includes One Time, Dreamwork, The World Is Yours and the Caiphus.
What this means his hit Dreamwork, featuring Yanga, has sold over 1 million equivalent units, while the rest of the songs have sold enough to place AKA in the running to be one of South Africa’s best selling Hip Hop artists of all time.
The feat comes just days after AKA unleashed no less than two songs into the ether. On Friday, Supamega unleashed Main Ous, a collaborative entry with Youngsta CPT whose visuals premiered exclusively on Channel O, as well his new summer toon, Free.
AKA is currently getting ready for his highly anticipated AKA Orchestra Ethekwini, which will find him elevating his catalogue with a 50 piece orchetra band. The shindig will take place on November 2nd at the ICC in Durban. The show is brought to you in parnership with Channel O
