This is not a tell-all about the super secret assignments the CIA is working on: it’s a tell-all about the new movie starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. Central Intelligence teams up “a little Hart and a big Johnson” to deliver what they do best: action and comedy.

With M-Net Movies and Ster-Kinekor hosting a silver screening of the movie (which will be in cinemas nationwide from Friday 24 June) we’re bringing you ten need-to-know facts about the movie, its stars, and even the real-life CIA.

1. Central Intelligence is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber, the man behind We’re the Millers and Dodgeball.

2. Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart co-hosted this year’s MTV Movie Awards, but Central Intelligence is their first feature film together.

3. Part of the pair’s appeal is their “odd coupling”. With Johnson standing at a staggering 1.96m and Hart at 1.63m, they’re not easy to ignore.

4. The movie also stars Oscar nominee Amy Ryan and three-time Emmy winner Aaron Paul.

5. When it comes to Johnson and Hart’s work together in this film, Casablanca’s closing line immediately comes to mind: “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship."

6. The two stars are already set to reunite in the Jumanji remake.

7. Johnson is set to reunite with Thurber in a movie currently in development, titled Skyscraper.

8. Central Intelligence is full of fast cars, big guns and mean martial arts skills, but you don’t necessarily need any of that to work in the CIA. In fact, you’d probably have a better shot at a job if you had the skills of Hart’s character.

9. In case you missed it, Hart was recently in South Africa.

10. Lalla Hirayama was recently is New York, interviewing Thurber, Johnson and Hart for the film. Check out her interviews in the next episode of LallaLand, on 12 June, right before the Sunday night movie on M-Net Movies Premiere.
