Are you sweating under the collar while thinking about what to get for your partner this Valentine’s Day?

Sadly, getting just the right Valentine’s Day gift comes with plenty of pressure. Should you not get it right, chances are you will find yourself in the doghouse or spending the night alone on the couch.

From divorce papers to flowers meant for the dead, here are some of the terrible gifts women have received from their significant others.

You’re getting a divorce!

Lavish proposals are on the rise on Valentine's Day, and so is divorce. While others were surprised with extravagant gifts, Amy, a publicist in Manhattan, received divorce papers from her husband of seven years.  In fact, nearly 200 New Yorkers filed for divorce on Valentine's Day in 2019. Buh-bye!

Ta-da, it's a toilet seat!

Valentine’s Day became a joke when a man gifted his wife a toilet seat (kid you not). No, it wasn't one of a kind, but the most generic you’ll ever find. Darling, you really shouldn't have. Has romance gone down the toilet? Darling, show him the door!

Flowers from the dead

A man took a dark shortcut by stealing flowers from a local cemetery and gifting them to his now ex-girlfriend.

According to a social media post by Don Price, a sexton at a cemetery in downtown Orlando, theft in cemeteries is on the rise on Valentine's Day. Price said this is quite a big problem as it happens every year. That's just dark!

If not stolen from a gravesite or anywhere else, flowers make for a wonderful gift.
