Cable theft has become a bane for many municipalities, with this highly disruptive crime wreaking havoc across suburbs.

If you see any suspect activity or you become aware of cable theft, it’s crucial you report it. If possible, take a photo of any suspect vehicles or individuals or, if the cable theft has already taken place, a photo of the damage and the surrounding area will also be helpful. Take note of the suburb, street names, registration numbers of vehicles, and any other relevant information before reporting the incident.

If you see or suspect cable theft affecting Metrorail train services, you can report the incident to the Metrorail Protection Services: 021 449 4336 / 5056
