Cena shot to stardom with the 2006 action movie, The Marine. In this movie, he plays former marine John Triton, whose wife goes missing while they are on holiday. To rescue the love of his life, Triton has to go after the bad guys.

In Fast & Furious 9 centred on Vin Diesel (Dom), Cena plays villain Jakob Toretto, Dom and Mia's (Jordana Brewster) estranged brother. Jakob is a badass assassin, a master thief, and a high-performance driver.

In the animated children’s movie Ferdinand, Cena springs into vocal action lending his voice to Ferdinand, a bull with a big heart who refuses to fight. Even though Ferdinand believes in looking out for others, he is sadly mistaken for a dangerous beast.
