Samantha had to go to prison for eight years after being framed for fraud committed by her husband and subsequently lost the only thing in life that she loved more than anything, her children.ย
After Sam's arrest, Adrian's older brother Jason and his wife Megan took in the children and raised them as their own. Miranda only had a few years left before she became an adult herself and moved in with her fiancรฉ, while Liam who was closest with his mother, had to navigate his entire high school career without his strong role model and friend. Megan who could not have any children of her own saw the opportunity to take Caitlyn in as the youngest and form a strong motherly bond with her while she was still young.ย
This week we saw Samantha meet her youngest children after being so brutally rejected by her eldest Miranda.ย
Neither of the children gave her the open-arms welcome she expected, and seeing them for the first time in eight years took her on an emotional rollercoaster ride that brought tears to all of our eyes.

Miranda
The eldest of the Hugo children and the first to move out of the house, Miranda had been practicing her speech for years and managed to stay stone cold when Samantha came to her apartment.ย
Liam
Liam was the one that noticed Anton's van outside the house andย unknowingly started Sam on her mission to find the truth. Liam is the middle child of the three and did not take very well to his mother being arrested as Jason mentioned that heย had nightmares all through high school. This shy and timid giant meets his mother and is greeted by a massive hug.ย
Caitlyn
The baby of the bunch, little Caity was only 2ย years old when her mother was arrested and her only memory of her disappeared as Megan stepped in and assumed thisย role. She has become very attached to Jason and Meg as her parents and was in complete shock when they told her the truth. Because of the poison fed to her by Megan, Caitlyn was very cold towards Sam when the two of them finally met.ย
