An ordinary teenager, Clary Fray, living in New York City, learns that she is a half-angel warrior known as a Shadowhunter. After her mother disappears, Clary joins a group of Shadowhunters, and enters an alternate realm known as Downworld. Here they must fight to protect an ancient relic that holds the key to her mother's future.
