Love after loss

They say life begins at 40. For Tina Hlatshwayo (Linda Sokhulu) though, life starts at 49 in 1Magic’s (DStv Channel 103) brand-new dramedy Grown Woman, which premiers on Friday 3 February at 21:30.

Following her husband’s death, Tina unexpectedly finds love with an attractive beau Rakwena (Bohang Moeko), who happens to be much younger than her. As their romance unfolds, Tina’s loved ones question her lover’s intentions. Will Tina and Ra’s love endure criticism and how will her loved ones react to her changing lifestyle?

Watch Grown Woman from Friday, 3 February on 1Magic (DStv Channel 103) at 21:30.

Turning a new leaf

Having been married for 25 years, Tina spent all her time balancing work and home. With her children, Sakhile (Sandile Mahlangu) and Noxee (Bahumi Mhlongo) grown and her husband gone, it’s time for her to look inwards and figure out who she is and what makes her happy.

On this new journey, she encounters Ra, who helps her rediscover herself and brings about a much-needed sexual awakening.

“Friday nights on 1Magic have become the home of edgy, boundary-pushing shows about women taking charge of their lives and narratives. We’re excited to keep this genre going and to push it forward with the premiere of Grown Woman, and we can’t wait for our audiences to engage with it,” says Shirley Adonisi, Director of Local Entertainment Channels at M-Net.

While Grown Woman is a story of self-rediscovery, it’s also the tale of family, love, grief, and adventure.
