Local series fans can also look forward to romance, comedy and friendship in Troukoors Season 2.

History lovers, DStv Compact Plus is taking you for a night at the museum in Strangest Things Season 1, which tells us some of the true stories behind museums’ weirdest acquisitions. Curious minds can also enjoy true crime series The Lovers’ Lane Murders Season 1, which digs into an unsolved case in which a serial killer targeted couples.

Carrying over last season’s story arc, series creator and star Robin Thede promises we’ll find out who was responsible for last season’s apocalypse, where the survivors are, and who’s watching them. Dinge Van ’n Kind Season 1

This impeccably costumed time-hopping series brings Marita van der Vyver’s 1994 novel to life. The story follows Mart Vermaak, from her teens during 1970s apartheid South Africa (played by Melissa Myburg), to being a woman in her 30s (played by Cintaine Schutte) living in London during the 1990s, to her retirement years (played by Susanne Beyers) when she has returned to South Africa for good. Along the way we see Mart tackle politics, parents, unplanned pregnancy, family and friendship.

Troukoors Season 2

Wedding planner Jessica (Ilse-Lee van Niekerk) is still with her delicious new love Chef Liam (Christiaan Schoombie), Jessica’s software developer sister Luca (Blyde Smit) is trying to make long-distance love work with barman-turned-fantasy writer Stefan (Evan Hengst), and Jessica’s best friend Abi (Bianca Flanders) the baker is still swearing off sex… for a hot second. But temptation is coming their way in the form of game designer Justin (David Viviers) and Maths tutor Hugo (Marlo Minnaar). The Lovers’ Lane Murders Season 1

True crime. Former FBI profiler Jim Clemente and former FBI Special Agents Maureen O'Connell and Bobby Chacon work together to shed light on a 30-year-old cold case. Between 1986 and 1989, 3 couples were murdered and 1 went missing along Virginia’s Colonial Parkway, including Cathy Thomas and her girlfriend Becky Dowski, Annamaria Phelps and Daniel Lauer, 20-year-old David Knobling and 14-year-old Robin Edwards, and Cassandra Lee Hailey and Richard Keith Call whose bodies were never found.
