Lorna Maseko discovers South Africa’s homegrown cuisine in new local production for BBC Lifestyle, Homegrown Tastes South Africa Season 1.

Filming has begun for the 10-part series, Homegrown Tastes South Africa, which joins BBC Lifestyle’s (DStv channel 174) local line-up in 2022. Produced by one of the leading production companies in Africa, Rapid Blue and presented by South African international award-winning celebrity chef and TV personality, Lorna Maseko.

The vibrant series will follow Lorna on a journey across the scenic wonders of South Africa, from the City of Gold to the highest town in South Africa, Dullstroom, the Karoo to the breathtaking winelands and fishing fleets of the Western Cape.

In each episode Lorna will trade her stilettos for practical footwear and meet a feast of local faces from celebrities to the country’s incredible chefs, producers and restaurant owners. Lorna will discover South Africa’s unique homegrown excellence featuring urban street food, haute cuisine, signature South African foods, seafood and the finest wines. In each episode Lorna will celebrate the hero ingredients by preparing her own delicious interpretation for the best local chefs and celebrities SA has to offer!

Rapid Blue’s production Come Dine With Me South Africa has returned for a 7th season currently airing on BBC Lifestyle Wednesdays at 20:00.
