From Friday, 1 May, the Showmax app will be discontinued, but you can continue enjoying the local and international shows you love on DStv Stream Compact. This creates a single destination where you can enjoy even more content in one app.
You’ll still have access to Showmax until the end of your current billing cycle or voucher period, or until 1 May, whichever comes first. When your subscription expires, however, never fear: you can continue the entertainment with a DStv subscription.
The Showmax section, featuring Originals and more, is available on all packages from Compact and up. Pick from DStv Stream Compact from R299, Compact Plus from R549, or Premium from R699, depending on which additional content you’d like to watch.
To watch Showmax content on DStv Stream, simply log in and select Showmax from the menu in the top navigation. While many popular titles and Originals will be available already, more content will be added in the coming months, and some unfortunately won’t be appearing at all due to licensing restrictions.

Die Kantoor
Binge Season 1 of this Afrikaans mockumentary comedy set at Deluxe Processed Meats, a polony distribution company in Klerksdorp. It’s South Africa’s take on The Office, packed with local flavour and humour. The team is led by boss Flip Bosman (played by Albert Pretorius), who, inspired by Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus, dreams of building a world-class operation, despite his outdated ideas.

Set along the border of Lesotho and KwaZulu-Natal, this Western‑themed telenovela follows two rival families locked in a long‑running feud: the Zulu cattle‑farming Biyela clan and the Basotho cattle‑raiding Ts’eoles. As tensions escalate, the season explores attempts to shift this hostile dynamic when Sihle Biyela (Noluthando Ngema) chooses to build a life with Leruo Ts’eole (Lehlohonolo Mayeza). Their union sparks fresh conflict, layered rivalries, and relentless power struggles as both families battle to assert dominance.

In this fast‑paced legal drama, the stakes keep rising at Gumede & Associates, a powerful family‑owned law firm in Sandton where high‑profile cases collide with hidden agendas.
