Part-time rocker Fafa Beltrame (Altus Theart) is one of the Stryders’ coaches. His wife Maryke (Marijke Coetser) works at the beauty salon Bibi’s and they have one son, André (Hennie Truter). Maryke struggles to make peace with Fafa’s passion to fulfil his dream of becoming a musician.

Blitz Vermeulen (Werner Coetser) is the Stryders’ lightning fast fly half. He married Lienkie (Mandi du Plooy-Baard) in 2020. Lienkie was his student teacher and she contacted him many years after their breakup to drop the news on him that he has a son, Johan (Dirk Jacobs).

The eighth man, Liam Willemse (David Johnson), is married to Candice (Claudia Jones). Candice used to be a producer of a web series but she is now a waitress at the bar Pottie’s. Liam’s cousin Ronnie (Donovan Pietersen) who spent 6 years behind bars, was recently released in 2021 and now stays with the Willemses.

Strength and condition coach Jordan James (Theodore Jantjies) is a widower who’s now engaged to the bubbly Bibi Bhele (Stephanie Petersen). Bibi is the owner of the beauty salon Bibi’s who had a few destructive relationships before she met Jordan. Jordan and Bibi’s romance started off rocky, but they eventually declared their love to each other.

The Stryders’ prop Buks Marais (Adriaan Marais) was engaged twice but the feisty Evonique, or Nesie, Griesel bowled him over and they got married in August 2021. Nesie is a bar lady at Pottie’s and she grew up in Geduld, Springs. She moved to Johannesburg to fulfil her dream to be a singer, but this dream hasn’t come true yet.

The Stryders coach Simon Greeff (David Louw) and his ex-wife Renate (Christel van den Bergh) renewed their relationship last year during Simon’s engagement with bar lady Lulu (Ansu Visser). Both women fell pregnant and Simon and Renate’s son Regardt, and Lulu and Simon’s daughter Anja, were both born early August 2021.
