It is hard to imagine a world without Isibaya; luckily, Mzansi viewers no longer have to. We take a look at five reasons Isibaya was sorely and terribly missed druing it's production break.

  1. The nail-biting drama

Isibaya left us with so many cliffhangers and unanswered questions. Mkabayi sent Jabu away just after he found out that he could be the father of Ntwenhle’s unborn child. Who could forgot the drama when Mandla found out that a Zungu could be the father of his grandchild and threatened to kill Jabu, gun in hand?

The Ndlovus are not willing to lose their claim to royalty and chieftaincy over an affair between two youngsters. So, who is the father? Could this be the beginning of a fresh war between the Ndlovus and Zungus so soon after Sbu and Thandeka’s love brought a truce?

  1. The thrilling action

In case you missed it, Sbu and Duma narrowly escaped jail time. Yes, the chief of Bhubesini killed a man in cold blood; to be fair it was to save a friend. We thought Sbu’s hunger for revenge would have been buried along with his wife but it seems he grows hungrier to find and punish all the men who had a hand in the love of his life’s death. From torturing men on their death bed to confronting them in gun-to-gun duel, Sbu has already done it all to avenge his wife, but expect even more drama because the beast in Sbu is yet to be tamed.

  1. The steamy passion

If there is one thing we love about Isibaya, it is the love stories and love triangles. Get excited to see your fav couple like the passionate Dam Dam and Vava Voom, Sengwayo and Mam’Mkhize are fresh from their honeymoon and Mamthembu will certainly be waiting eagerly for her husband. Is there a chance for reconciliation between Sengwayo and Phumelele? What about Jabu and Ntwenhle’s short but steamy love affair? What can Dabula do to save his marriage from behind bars? Will Melusi go back to Johannesburg and reunite and reignite his new flame?

  1. Treacherous and strategic alliances

RED ALERT! DANGER! Kusazoshuba eBhubesin! If there is one thing we know about our fav telenovela, someone is always plotting something complicated, dangerous and intriguing. Siza and her father have been working overtime to come up with a plan to build a mine in the village.

With Qondi out of the way and Duma distracted by Sbu’s hunt for Thandeka’s killers, Siza has an opportunity to tug at the people really pulling the string eBhubesini. Qondi and Duma cannot be bought but everyone else in the valley has a price.

  1. That Zulu traditions you love

Isibaya may have taken a short break but it still has those long-lived Zulu traditions that are loved and revered in Mzansi. Season eight promises to be no different, bringing you scintillating drama, gripping action and fresh passion wrapped in the traditions you appreciate and learn from.

To see all this and more don't miss #Isibaya every Monday to Friday at 20:30 on Mzansi Magic DStv channel 161.
