With a great new year’s gift for connected subscribers, DStv viewers in the Compact Plus, Compact, Family and Access packages can enjoy even more information, education and entertainment in January at no extra cost.
This is all part of the DStv We Got You special, designed to cushion the effects of January, with its burden of things to do and bills to pay.
Gerald Ngonyamo, head of corporate affairs and public relations of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said the special would provide welcome relief to families and give them the treat of stepping up to the next level package while still only paying for their existing package.
“January is the month where life picks up speed again after the festive season, with tighter budgets, back to school, paying annual bills and all other things that call on the family budget.
By staying connected, viewers in the four package groups will get all the benefits of the next level package while We Got You runs for the whole of January and the whole of February.
“In these two months, active customers, reconnecting customers and new DStv subscribers who pay for their packages in full will automatically be upgraded to the next package,” said Mr Ngonyamo.
“We want customers to start the year with value that matters and the We Got You upgrade lets households pay less but unlock more stories, more channels, more sport, more children’s favourites, more local entertainment and more international content. We want to help bring families together without stretching January budgets.”
The upgrade will apply to all current DStv customers in the selected packages who stay connected, as well as customers who reconnect during the promotion period and all new subscribers who join between January 1 and February 28. They all qualify to receive the upgrade once payment reflects.
Mr Ngonyamo said this meant that the automatic bump up to the next package meant DStv Access would get DStv Family, DStv Family would get DStv Compact, DStv Compact would get DStv Compact Plus and DStv Compact Plus would get DStv Premium.
“The upgrade applies to decoder viewing. At the end of the promotion period, you’ll simply return to your usual package,” he said.
Viewers can pay or reconnect using the DStv website, the new MyDStv App, USSD, mobile money (where available), banking channels, card payments or walk-in agencies.
“This offer is about more than an upgrade,” said Mr Ngonyamo.
“It’s about giving households moments of joy, connection and discovery, without asking them to spend more. It celebrates our viewers and the wealth of content that bring us together.”
