Enhanced viewing experiences on the horizon for viewers
DStv Stream enables users to catch up on shows they have missed, as well as watch their favourite shows while connected to Wi-Fi!
With the rebranding of the DStv App to DStv Stream, enhanced viewing experiences are on the horizon for viewers who make use of this platform, which was designed to bring a world of information, education and entertainment to their fingertips.
MultiChoice Zimbabwe head of corporate affairs and public relations Charity Njanji said the rebranding was the latest stage in the journey of a product that has been widely embraced by DStv customers of all profiles, not only younger ones.
“DStv Stream, put quite simply, brings the ultimate streaming experience right to viewers’ fingertips as an all-inclusive entertainment platform which includes local and international entertainment, sport and children’s content and allows viewing wherever the viewer happens to be,” she said.
MultiChoice’s technical teams have enhanced the platform with a revamped and even smoother streaming experience packed featuring a number of innovations. Favourite profiles, account information, viewing history, watch lists, download capabilities, Catch-Up, BoxOffice and live TV are all still available, while additional features have been included.
These include enhanced personalisation enabling discovery of content in viewers’ profiles, a seamless, user-friendly and simpler streaming experience and the ability to switch soundtracks to local languages where available.
DStv Stream enables users to catch up on episodes of shows they have missed, as well as watch boxsets of series, download favourite shows while connected to Wi-Fi for seamless offline viewing later and personalise viewing resolution for a flawless, data-friendly experience.
“DStv Stream joins MyDStv and Showmax to boost the overall entertainment platform,” said Njanji.
“To join in, existing subscribers who have already been streaming need only update their existing DStv app. Existing subscribers who have not yet been streaming can also download the new app from their app store and log in with the same log-in credentials they’ve been using for self-service. If someone has not registered yet, it is easy to create an account through DStv website, linking it to an active subscription and then using those log-in credentials to start streaming on the DStv Stream app.
Njanji also said the journey would not stop there, as technical teams would continue to find new features and experiences to enhance customers’ enjoyment.
