Planning for her big day was not much of a hassle for Phindile, thanks to her favourite wedding show #OurPerfectWedding. A few tips here and there from some of the past episodes, and our bride was sorted!

Phindile (43) met Lazarus (44) at a church function in 2013. Their bishops are friends and would often invite church members to attend each other’s functions. On the day they met, Phindile had attended a function at Lazarus’s church and it so happened that Lazarus knew Phindile’s friend, Johanna. So, he asked Johanna for Phindile’s number and she gave him.

The Padima’s dated for a while after that and it was only after three years that they decided to let their church elders know. Lazarus beamed with pride, as he told of how he loved her from the day he saw her, adding that it was her smile and how she presented herself that drew his attention.

Challenges:

Phindile had a tough time breaking the news of her new relationship with Lazarus to her ex-boyfriend and father of her child. Her sister, Khabonina Makhanya explained that this was mainly due to the fact that she was afraid it might break the father-daughter relationship.

How he proposed:

Lazarus wanted it to be a surprise initially, but he had to tell her he wanted her to marry him. So, he asked her to try on a ring one time they were at a jewellery shop. Phindile recalled of how she refused to wear the engagement ring until he proved that he was serious about marrying her. He told her they’d travel to Limpopo the following week so he could inform his family about his intention of marrying her, and they did.

Phindile said everything about their wedding was special. She said the planning went well and they got blessings from their parents. Tonight, they invite you to join their friends and family to witness as they exchange vows and start a new journey in their lives.
