Premiering on 10 April at 8.00 pm on Maisha Magic Plus on DStv channel 163 and on GOtv Supa Channel 8 is the Kenyan first-ever Showmax original series, Crime and Justice. The epic series has been critically acclaimed for addressing difficult and topical issues in the country such as femicide and domestic violence, terrorism attacks, radicalism, whilst also exposing the limits of the judicial system. Each 45-minute episode gives an artistic stroke which promises to keep viewers glued to their screens from beginning to end for the next 8 weeks.
The drama series narrates headlining investigations by fictional Nairobi Metropol Police led by the dedicated detective duo- Silas played by Alfred Manyua and the goal-oriented Makena, played by Sarah Hassan.
Other notable featured cast include the award-winning Paul Ogola (plays Sokoro) who is also a recipient of the Best Actor Award in the Kenyan Theatre Awards ‘Sanaa Awards’ and two-time nominee in the Kalasha TV and Film International Awards East Africa. The other episodes draw inspiration from crimes that have caused national outrage but remain unresolved, or that the public feels didn’t not get justice by the judicial system.
