#MyAntiPiracyVoice Competition Aims to Combat Content Piracy

MultiChoice Namibia, in partnership with the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) and the Namibia Film Commission (NFC), is proud to announce the launch of the #MyAntiPiracyVoice competition!

Aimed at raising awareness about content piracy and its impact on Namibian industries and creators, the campaign seeks to educate young Namibians on the dangers of piracy and encourage them to become advocates for protecting creative work.

“Piracy undermines the livelihoods of local creators and stifles the growth of Namibia’s creative industry. Through this campaign, we aim to empower young voices to speak out against piracy and champion originality,” said Wycliffe Kauuova, MultiChoice Namibia Piracy Officer.

The competition specifically targets Namibian residents aged 18 and above. The entry mechanics are simple: participants are invited to create a 60-second video that clearly defines content piracy and explains how it harms the Namibian creative industry.

The video must be posted on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. Remember to tag @DStvNamibia or @ShowmaxNamibia, and include the hashtag #MyAntiPiracyVoice.

Prizes are up for grabs for the top three winners, including a one-year, six-month, and three-month Showmax Mobile subscription, along with branded merchandise for each winner.

Interested? The competition runs from 24 November 2025 to 11 January 2026. Let’s combat piracy together!
