New Home, Old Secrets: ‘Dear Future Me’ Returns as ‘Hello Future Me
Hello Future Me premieres August 31 on Africa Magic, continuing the emotional story of love, family, ambition and unexpected challenges from Dear Future Me.
Africa Magic has announced Monday, August 31, 2026, as the premiere date for Hello Future Me, the highly anticipated sequel to its 2025 romantic drama, Dear Future Me.
The new 26-episode Nigerian romantic drama series will premiere at 9 p.m. WAT on Africa Magic Showcase (DStv Channel 151), with new episodes airing Monday to Friday. Viewers will also be able to stream the series on DStv Stream
What Is Hello Future Me About?
Hello Future Me continues the story introduced in Dear Future Me, moving from the characters' attempts to heal past wounds to the challenges of dealing with an unpredictable future.
In Dear Future Me, viewers followed Boma (Femi Adekanye) and Dayo (Ruby Agwu) as they worked through past betrayals and tried to rebuild their relationship. Their children, Adele (Ejiroghene Asagba) and Banky (Johnson Ibeh), were also forced to deal with the emotional consequences of their parents' choices.
The sequel takes the story in a new direction as the family faces financial pressure, complicated relationships, career setbacks and difficult personal decisions.
Adele Returns Home in Hello Future Me
Adele's plans to study abroad are derailed by financial difficulties, forcing her to return to Nigeria and move back into her father's newly blended household.
Her return creates an uncomfortable situation, particularly because she must live with her stepmother, Dayo, and Banky, her former love interest who is now her stepbrother.
As old feelings resurface, Adele must navigate family tensions while trying to build a new identity and figure out what comes next.
She also turns to social media as part of her attempt to reinvent herself, adding another dimension to her journey of self-discovery.
Family Struggles Take Centre Stage
While Adele tries to find her footing, other members of the family face their own unexpected challenges.
Banky struggles to redefine his life following a career-ending injury, while Boma faces increasing financial pressure. Dayo, meanwhile, is forced to confront the devastating news of a fertility diagnosis.
Together, these storylines explore how families respond when carefully made plans are disrupted by circumstances beyond their control.
