The Love Guests enjoyed breakfast with one another for the first time this morning courtesy of Cherry who did such a great job she got a round of applause once everyone's belly was full. Given the diverse spread of people we have on the show, it's inevitable that there would be some fascinating differences in opinion early on. It hasn't even been 24 hours into the show and we've already had conversations running the gamut from bowel movements and accents to more serious subject matter like faith and marriage. Here's a closer look at one chat that really resonated because of its relevance to Ultimate Love.

THE CHALLENGES & FEARS AROUND SETTLING DOWN

After a hearty meal, our Love Guests remained at the dinner table, passing a plastic cup and giving each other an opportunity to speak their minds. The result was a very poignant and relevant conversation about the appropriate mindset to adopt when you're getting into a relationship. In the one camp were the ladies, Bolanle, Theresa, Jenny Koko and Chris. They voiced their frustration with men not really being clear about their intentions and insisted that a couple have to be on the same page about what they are working torward.

UNDERSTAND THE PRESSURES

Some of the gentlemen, Arnold and Michael in particular, felt that the ladies were grossly underestimating the pressure placed on men to provide structure, financial support and security for their wives and families. It's the reason why they argued it is more comfortable for them to go into a relationship and keep an open mind then make the decision to commit when they have a clearer perspective of things.

Chris emphathised with the pressure and disgrace men sometimes have to endure in expressing their affections (particularly when proposing) but still insisted that how a person moves in a relationship shows you what they are working torward even if they don't expressly say it. Bolanle expanded on this issue of insincerity and deception pointing out how important it is to ask the difficult questions from the jump, instead of straddling people along then only coming clean after wasting years of a person's life.

She also doubled down on how important it is to establish friendship in order to overcome the pressures of marriage. This was coborated by Arnold who added that centering God and having a heart of contrition and forgiveness is the only way you can have the empathy to make love last. Jay and Iyke rounded off this profound convo pointing out that the issue is one of different expectations. Men want comfort while woman want security. So women should protect themselves by defining the relationship before expressing their love lest they end up with a guy who just goes with the flow because the situationship is comfortable!

Agree?... Disagree? We're really keen to hear what you guys have to say about expectations going into a relationship and how much room should be allowed to revisit these and adapt as things change. Should marriage be the goal from the jump?
