The housemates just entered the house – and there's one thing on their minds; romance.
Last night, while the housemates were still on a high from the excitement of launch night, Pere pulled Ike aside and engaged him in conversation about Mercy Eke. In a chat in one of the bedrooms, Pere confessed his attraction to Mercy, and his interest in wanting to get to know her better in the house.
For context, Ike and Mercy Eke met in Big Brother Naija season 4 and started dating. Their passionate relationship continued outside the house, but hit a bump in the road and came to an abrupt end, culminating with Mercy Eke revealing on social media that the relationship was disastrous. Ike, on the other hand, also went on public record, stating their relationship had failed because of people's opinions.
Tolanibaj and Kiddwaya, who huddled with the pair as they had their conversation, seemed impressed by Pere's bold move to approach Ike and reveal his intentions. Ike seemed relaxed about the possibility of Pere making moves on Mercy Eke and gave him his blessing. In that same conversation, it came to light that Cross may also be interested in getting to know Mercy Eke better, a revelation that led Tolanibaj to exclaim; “May the best man win”. Kiddwaya, on the other hand, spoke in coded language, but once the conversation with the boys was over, he found Mercy Eke, pulled her by the hand while Tolanibaj lingered - and had a playful, coded chat with her that we can't wait to decipher in the coming days, or weeks.
Mercy Eke and Ike do not seem to be on speaking terms and the two seemed like they were actively avoiding each other last night. However, Mercy Eke had a brief conversation with Ike this morning about water, so it is possible that their relationship is moving to friendlier waters. Will we see a Mercy Eke and Ike reunion, or will Pere state his case and win her affections. Mercy Eke does not seem to be interested in ships so far this season, however, and ultimately, the decision would lie with her. Interesting times ahead.
Cross, on the other hand, seems to like Ceec. In a conversation with Pere this morning about who the boys are crushing on, Cross expressed his interest in her, but sounded non-commital. He expressed Ceec is his neighbour and he wants to get to know her better now that they are in the house together. Ceec mentioned on stage last night that she is not going to be distracted by any man this season. Would she be willIing to change her stance for Cross if he applied pressure and the vibes were right?🤔
Most importantly, will this be a season of ships and if yes, will they be genuine? Only time will tell.
