From in-country to the diaspora, Zambians celebrated their independence in style.

From in-country to the diaspora, Zambians celebrated their independence in so many exciting ways and what we loved the most is the fashion and creativity with the styles. With varying adaptations of what the day means to them, most Zambians and their friends got creative with the Zambian colours; green, red, black and orange.

The colours used in the flag of Zambia are rich in symbolism. Green stands for the nation’s lush flora, red for the nation’s struggle for freedom, black for the Zambian people, and orange for the land’s natural resources and mineral wealth.

Check out some of our favourite 53rd independence day styles:

Zambian rapper, TV presenter, MC and all-round cool person Cleo Ice Queen always gets it right and we absolutely love how she put together her sports luxe  look for Independence Day.

USA-based Zambian stylist and blogger, Frilancy Hoyle took it to another level with this off-shoulder outfit that’s everything class, style and oozes pizzazz.

Sometimes all you need is a flag wrap and good genes. Stunning!

When our mamas go on that patronage tip, they go in full force. We learn from them. :slightly_smiling_face:

See what the guys did there? Just a pocket square and good fitting suit to show your love for your beautiful country can also be enough.
