Limited movement is a difficult thing to contend with, even if you’re quite introverted. With that being said, there’s no harm in seeing our current circumstance as an opportunity to explore new outlets, as many of us elect to stay home to curb the spread of COVID-19. Here are three suggestions to get you lifted and on track.

SEGMENT AND STRUCTURE YOUR LIFE

It’s important to try within reason to create a time and place for work that’s separate from where you rest and unwind. This way, you don’t struggle to decompress when it’s time to kick back and enjoy some Z magic with the family. We’ve got an amazing line-up of shows airing weeknights like Zuba (Mon – Fri at 20h00hrs) and Mpali Season 3, (Mon – Thu at 20h30hrs). This means you can always count on Channel 162 to keep you entertained after a hard day’s work making your living room your happy space.

NURTURE YOUR TALENTS

If you aren’t travelling to and from work (or school) you might find yourself with a lot of time on your hands. Now, while we aren’t open for auditions at the moment, you can start honing your creative gifts and prepare to get your shot in the limelight, when the opportunity comes again. Take some time to finally recite your lines for that potential lead role in a Zambezi Magic drama. Deliver your performance into the mirror or capture it on video to make sure you’re on par. Cease the opportunity to also learn a new recipe, paint or sketch something random in your home or finish that instrumental you haven’t gotten around to editing.

DON’T FORGET TO DECOMPRESS

Do something daily that helps you to unwind; Read a nice book, call a family member that you haven't spoken to in a while or spend a couple of hours on the couch to binge-watch your favourite show. Our suite of lighthearted and uplifting comedy and lifestyle shows like Tuvwange (Fridays at 21h30), the hilarious antics of Shi Mumbi (Fridays at 21h00) and the dramatic twist and turns of Snakes & Ladders (Mon – Fri at 19h30) might be the fix you need to lift your spirits after a long day. Remember, don’t feel guilty for setting aside time in the day to do something positive and relaxing for yourself.
