Do you remember the first time you watched television and felt an immediate connection to the screen? Many of us can relate to the amazing feeling of being able to connect to the experiences and the lives and journeys of other people. Sadly however, most of us can also relate to the disconnection we felt to the people and stories portrayed on the TV screen. As Zambezi Magic, we pride ourselves in sharing our local stories for a whopping 5 years.
But how can we talk about Zambian drama without mentioning the first Telenovela to hit our screens in 2017: Zuba. ???
The show kicked off with a bang and has maintained a high level of interest amongst our audiences. So much so, that it progressed from airing a few episodes each week, to airing every weekday in the prime-time slot on channel 162! Not a day goes by without lively discussions about the show on social media or in our corridors and streets.
In case you’ve been sleeping under a rock, the major story arcs right now are Zuba’s unending dilema, Suwi’s evil exploits and Jayden’s treachery. Tune in!
Mpali started broadcasting on our channel in 2018. Serving up so much flavour that 2 years in, still gets eyes teary and jaws dropping on a daily basis. The Zambian telenovela bar has been raised so high that soapy viewing has now become not only a choice, but a mobilisation of fans both young and old.
Our hearts finally have found what our eyes yearn to see; local dramas so good, it make us aspire to be in them or write for them or meet the actors in person. And with this month being Zambezi Magic’s birthday month, we cannot wait for you to enjoy each and every one of our shows.
Zambezi Magic is celebrating two telenovela birthdays, help us blow out the “candles on the cake” by catching #ZMZuba Season 3 weekdays at 20:00hrs and #ZMMpali Season 3 every Monday to Thursday at 20:30hrs only on #ZambeziMagic DStv CH 162. ????
