Maria Kristu, a tale based on true events, is about an aspiring writer and curios 16-year-old Buumba who is a traditional follower of the Maria Kristu church. Buumba was taught since childhood that her place in this world as a woman is next to her husband. Conflicted between the church’s doctrine and her pursuit to achieve her writing dreams, she finds herself questioning everything about life. The news of her groom-to-be is brought up and she tries to escape by using tactics that are questionable to both society and the church. This film promises the thrill you have all been looking forward to. Fatsani is a feature film that is inspired by true events happening in Malawi and other surrounding African countries. The film explores the life of an 11-year- old girl who loses her parents in a road accident and is forced to become the breadwinner, when her grandmother falls sick. The film promises to open up people’s minds when it comes to the impact of corruption, police brutality, gender-based violence, right to education, access to clean water and food in a world where a child is forced to lead a family.
