During the previous episode of Idols SA, the judges trimmed the list of contestants down to the Top 12. And while the dream chasers have been celebrating their triumphant milestone in the competition, time waits for no man. The live shows start tomorrow. The six ladies will be looking to impress the judges and woo viewers during performances that must geared towards the looming voting lines.

To get their first taste of big performance in front of a live audience, the ladies of song are being paired up with former Idols SA contestants for duets.

They’ve gotten ample practice. Just two weeks ago, the contestants were tested through duets at Theatre Week. Now that they’ve mastered the importance of chemistry, and harmonising with their stage partner, all while delivering engaging performances, the six hopefuls will look to blow everyone away.

Billed to set the stage ablaze are past contestants Karabo, Lloyiso, Mmatema and Paxton.

Karabo and Paxton’s talent led them to the crown on season 11 and season 13 respectively. Those paired with these titans will be getting the opportunity to unleash their vocal technique without holding back.

Taking the moment to revisit the stage where it all began, global R&B superstar Lloyiso will be bringing his international flair to the stage.

Mmatema, who bowed as a runner-up on season 11 of the popular singing competition, will be bring the experience gained from her successful music and broadcast career to the stage. The contestants performing with them have all the space to melt lush harmonies with the finest in the game.

After each duet performance, each of the six contestants will get the opportunity to wow judges with their solo performances. And now that voting lines will be opening, each performance will be aimed at making a big impression to the legions of fans tuning in. Next week, the remaining six contestants will go through the same cycle. Thereafter, Mzansi will decide on which dream chasers will be sent home.

Idols SA airs every Saturday at 18:00 on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161), thereafter on Mzansi Wethu at 19:30.
