Mahlodi Raphadu (49 years) was given a second chance in life when he survived that terrible accident that took the life of one of his collegues, and tonight his children and sister-in-law made sure he gets to have the wedding of his dream with his dearest wife, Juliet (47 years)

This happened just a few days before the shooting of their Gift of Love. His daughter, Metse tears up when she thinks about how life would have been without her father.

According to her, the couple met while they were in high school, back in the 1990s. “Dad played soccer and was a bit of charmer,” she said. Her younger sibling, Sello elaborated saying their mom was also into sports. “She played netball and I think they must have met during one of the sports days back then,” he said.

Juliet’s sister, Kopano said the two have supported each other from day one. “What I love about them is their sense of humor. There’s never a dull moment with them around,” she said.

Reiterating her aunt’s words, Metse said, “When my dad had to drop out from school to go find a job to support his family, my mom didn’t give up on her. I think they’ve lasted this long because of the support they give each other.”

The couple didn’t have a white wedding. They have a ceremony where they exchanged vows and Mahlodi paid lobola. Metse said her mom loves the finer things in life and she’d make sure they give them the perfect Gift of Love by also inviting close friend and family they hold close to their hearts to celebrate this special day with them.
