Love has been the buzzword of the week. It's a word that carries boundless meaning and interpretations, and there are distinct ways through which individuals express and receive love. Enter the fascinating concept of love languages by Dr. Gary Chapman in his book "The 5 Love Languages," in which he suggests that people express and interpret love in five primary ways. As this week's theme is love, we got to experience love through the eyes of the housemates and we have theories of our own about their love languages.

Words of affirmation

For individuals who speak this love language, words hold immense power. They thrive on verbal expressions of love and appreciation. A simple "I love you" or a heartfelt compliment can make their day.

Pale values meaningful conversations, connections, support, and encouragement from her peers. Liema also appreciates honesty, authenticity, and meaningful connections with her loved ones. Mr Valentine's, Sinaye, is the go-to gentleman in the house when the ladies need to talk. That is because he knows just what to say when he needs to affirm their feelings. Lerato Modise was recently showered with a heartfelt "I love you" from PapaGhost after a tough ship day, and we were here for it. ❤

Acts of service

Actions truly speak louder than words for those who resonate with acts of service. They feel most loved when their partner goes out of their way to help them to ease their burden.

McJunior once came in and took over Fahima's kitchen chores because she was dressed in a bikini and wanted to swim. Makhekhe also reckons he is a 2 out of 10 on the romantic scale, because what he will do is cook and clean as a loud expression of love. PapaGhost, the 'director', communicates his love through actions. This form of love often gest on the housemate's last nerves, but he is always ready to serve.

Receiving gifts

Gift-giving isn't just about materialism; it's a profound expression of love for individuals who value receiving gifts as their primary love language. It's the thought and effort behind the gift that truly matters.

Taki asked disruptor Neo to be his Valentine's with a letter, a ring and a bracelet. It's not about the price tag but the sentiment behind the gesture.

Quality time

For those who cherish quality time, undivided attention is the ultimate gift. They feel most loved when their partner devotes focused time and energy to being with them, creating cherished memories together. Planning a romantic picnic in the park, having a cosy movie night at home, or going for a stroll hand-in-hand, savouring each other's company without distractions.

This past week, Meelay spent some time bonding with her partner, Sinaye, since spending quality time her closest love language. Chuenzaaa explicitly stated that quality time is her love language so that cuddle with Makhekhe last night was right up her alley. The one thing Mich will do is cuddle and bond with his BFF Yolanda. We love it for them. 😍

Physical touch

Physical touch is a powerful communicator of love for individuals who resonate with this love language. From tender hugs to affectionate gestures, physical intimacy fosters a deep sense of connection and security. Holding hands while taking a walk, cuddling on the couch while watching a movie, or giving spontaneous hugs and kisses throughout the day to express love and affection are some examples of people who prefer this language.

We have plenty of these in the house including, Jareed, Els, Mpumi, Yolanda, WillyYoung Pappi and Zee. The amount of time they've spent cuddling, sitting on top of each other, rubbing on each other in the jacuzzi and kissing is a testament to this.

Do you know your love language?
