Man laughing

Charles Dickens once said, "There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour.”

In no particular order, we present some of the greatest stand-up comedians in Mzansi to have ever grabbed a mic.

Trevor Noah

Noah began his comedy career by accident. While attending a comedy show with his friends, an intoxicated friend dared him to get on stage. Noah's jokes are beyond hilarious, and he has an impressive number of followers, locally and internationally.

Barry Hilton

Hilton is undoubtedly South Africa's favourite cousin and comedian. His material is not only funny but clean. Hilton turns daily situations on their heads to make us laugh at life. He has raised the world's laughter level considerably.

Celest Ntuli

She's one of the funniest female stand-up comedians and is referred to by many as the queen of Zulu comedy. Ntuli has shown Mzansi her versatility and prowess. She embraces rawness and isn't afraid to take risks.

Tumi Morake

She has wowed audiences in Ghana, Australia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, and Wimbledon and has shown her stripes as the first woman to headline Comedy Central in Africa. Morake holds her own in the industry, and her material is fiercely funny and provocative.

This Friday at 17:00, for your dose of laughter, tune in to Live Series Presents Barry Hilton on Cine Magic.
